Our New TUBITAK Supported Project Comes to Life
August 6, 2025
Through determined work since its establishment, the Klasik Divan KD Digital Projects Team has achieved significant success. Having taken its first step in digital humanities last year with the pilot study Atlas of Amasya Poets, our team continues to make its mark with a far more comprehensive project.
Our project, titled "Mapping 16th-Century Ottoman Literary Circles via Geographic Information Systems, Social Network Analysis, and Database, and Examining Their Literary Relationships," has been awarded funding under the TUBITAK 1001 Program. The project aims to examine Ottoman literary circles in a multi-layered manner through Geographic Information Systems, social network analysis, and database technologies, revealing the unseen connections within these literary circles by analyzing the relationships between space, individuals, and texts through digital methods. Reimagining Ottoman literature through the possibilities of data-driven research, this study holds great significance in pioneering the digital transformation of the field.
To be realized under the leadership of Principal Investigator Prof. Şerife Yalçınkaya; we congratulate all team members involved in this work and proudly share this achievement.

Our Pilot Project, "Atlas of Amasya Poets," Introduced to the Literature
The II. International Amasya Social Sciences Research Symposium, where the pilot project of our Klasik Divan initiative Atlas of Amasya Poets was presented, has been published as a book by Sonçağ Publishing, taking its place in the academic literature.
Bringing together the symposium papers, this publication holds great importance as it serves as a permanent and accessible academic resource for the studies presented. Introduced at the symposium through our team's contributions, the Atlas of Amasya Poets project is now documented in writing within this comprehensive volume.
Beyond a oral presentation, we as Klasik Divan express our satisfaction with our work now being documented in a permanent academic publication, and we thank all of our team members who contributed.

The First Project of the Klasik Divan Digital Projects Team Introduced at the "Amasya in the Century of Turkey" Symposium
Atlas of Amasya Poets, the pilot project of the Klasik Divan Digital Projects Team established under Digital Humanities, met the academic community at the II. International Amasya Social Sciences Research Symposium.
The presentation was delivered by our team members Dilan Adanç and Beyza Abdukarimov. Brought to life through the collective efforts of our eight-member team, this pilot project aims to map and visualize Divan poets who were raised in Amasya—one of the vital centers of Classical Turkish Literature within the framework of a digital atlas. Completed in a development period of just two months, the project represents the first concrete output of the team's vision to bring together classical literature research with digital humanities methodologies.
